Calvert Coleman and Sarah Westfall were married in Van Buren, Michigan on December 24, 1863.  They had eight children before they separated about 30 years later and eventually divorced.  Calvert's ancestors came from Ireland, probably sometime between 1800 and 1830.  Sarah's ancestors came to the United States in 1642, from Holland and Westphalia (now known as North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany).

A history of the family of Calvert Coleman and Sarah Wesfall was written by Clarice Coleman.  She published The Westfall and Coleman Family History in 2003.  To access this 161-page masterpiece, click here.
