Jesus Terrazas and Guadalupe Terrazas

 

 


The parents of Melecio Terrazas were Jesus Terrazas and Guadalupe Terrazas.  Their dates and places of birth are not known.  They were married November 7, 1861 in the town of Santa Isabel in Chihuahua.

Jesus and Guadalupe had nine children.  The family lived in various places in Chihuahua.  Dionicio was born in 1867. Melicio was born in 1873. Jose Guadalupe Eulalio was born on February 12, 1874 in Satevo Pueblo.  Hipolito was born in 1875.  Clotilde was born on June 4, 1877 in La Concepcion.  Juan Bautista was born in 1882. Jesus Maria (daughter) was born in 1884.  Cruz was born in 1884.  Genaro's birth date is unknown.

According to Elijia and Leonor, Genaro was never married. He was a stagecoach driver which carried mail, cargo, and passengers from the City of Chihuahua to the ranches.  He was killed by Indians.

Jose Guadalupe Eulalio, was never married, was a witness at the marriage of his brother Melicio to Isabel Rascon.  Hipolito, who was never married, was a field worker.  He died at the Hacienda Boca Grande. 

Dionicio was married to Maria de Jesus Fierro on March 16, 1908 in Galeana, Chihuahua. They had a daughter, Maria Concepcion, who was born on August 21, 1901 in Galeana. 

Clotilde was never married.  The 1930 Mexico Census shows her living with her sister Jesus Maria and her brother Juan and Juan's daughter Joaquina  in Ascencion. Border crossing records show her traveling to Columbus, New Mexico, on December 25, 1935, along with her sister Jesus Maria and niece Joaquina.

Jesus Maria was never married.  She and her sister Clotilde lived together in the 1950s in Palomas, Chihuahua.

Juan Bautista died in Santa Ana, California of tuberculosis.  He was married to Petra Ortiz. 

Cruz was married to Zeferina Ruiz de Terrazas.  They had a daughter Ramona.
