Valentine Steil married Frances Seidel in 1901.  They had four children: Eric (1902), Gerhardt Walter (1904), John Arthur (1910), and Henry George (1913).

Gerhardt Steil was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on February 4, 1904.  He married Ethel Pearl DeWolf in 1927.  Census records show them living in Roseville, Michigan in 1930.  Gerhardt and Ethel had three children: Shirley (1928), Geraldine (1931), and Eric Walter (1934).

Ethel died on May 29, 1970, in 29 Palms, California.  Gerhardt married Mildred "Millie" Boogaard on June 11, 1972, in San Bernardino, California.

Mildred died on December 20, 1997, in Landers, California.  Gerhardt "Gerry" Steil died on March 14, 2000, in Loma, Colorado.  (Obituaries of Gerhardt and Millie)
