Edward Paterson was born about 1750.  He married Jane Paterson.  Jane was born on March 31, 1765.

Edward and Jane had six children: Janet (1794-1825), Edward (1797-1881), James (1799-1868), Elizabeth (1802- ), Jean (1807-1879), and Robert (1811-1858).

Jane died on January 4, 1830 in Hightae, Lochmaben, Dumfriesshire.  Edward died on December 4, 1832 in Lochmaben.
