Margaret married Arthur Roy Coleman on May 29, 1916 in Chatham. Arthur, known as Roy, has been previous married and had two children from the prior marriage: Dodd and Ruth. When his wife died shortly after the birth of Ruth, Dodd temporarily lived with Addie Coleman Skerrett, Roy's sister, and Ruth was adopted by Jennie Coleman Frear, another sister. For a year or two, Margaret and Roy lived in Chatham, with Roy working as a car salesman for a Ford dealership. Their first two children, Jean (1916) and Betty (1918), were born in Canada. Then the family moved to Detroit where they lived in an apartment above some stores on Woodward Avenue, two blocks south of Six Mile Road. Their son Murray was born in 1920. Jean was hit by an automobile and died in 1923. Dodd lived with them for several years during the 1920s. Roy died in 1932. He is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit. Margaret married Laban J. Finney, known as Jack, a few years later. Jack died in 1945. Margaret and two of her sisters, Belle and Agnes, eventually moved to a house at 538 Hollywood Avenue in Highland park where they lived together for several years. Agnes worked nearby at the office of Dr. Shields. Eventually, Belle moved back to Canada where she died. Agnes and Margaret eventually moved to Carsonville, Michigan, where they lived with Margaret's daughter Betty and her husband Casper Basler. Agnes died in 1978 at the age of 95. Agnes is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit. Margaret died about a month before her 100th birthday. Margaret is buried in a cemetery in Carsonville. For photos of Margaret and Roy, click here.
