Dodd Coleman was the first child born to Arthur Roy Coleman.

Dodd was a child of the marriage of Roy and Florence Curtis Knapp.

Florence was the second wife of Roy.  There were no children of the first marriage.

Florence and Roy had a second child, Ruth, in 1913.  Florence died shortly thereafter.

Apparently it was too much for Roy to handle both children as a single father.

So Dodd went to live with Roy's sister Addie and Ruth went to live with his sister Jennie.

Jennie and her husband Edgar Freer adopted Ruth.

Addie took care of Dodd for some time but Dodd eventually returned to Roy after Roy married Margaret Paterson in 1916.

The 1920 census shows Dodd living with Roy and Margaret and their two children Jean and Betty.

The 1930 census shows him still living in that household, although Jean had died and Murray was born in July 1920.

Dodd married Eileen O'Bried and they had two children: Dodd Jr. and Candace.

Dodd died in 1974.
