Samuel DeWitt Westfall III
 (1807-1893)

Samuel DeWitt Westfall III was born in Phelps, New York on September 9, 1807.  He was the oldest son of George DeWitt Westfall and Maria Bennett.

Samuel married Elizabeth Kipp, known as Betsey, in 1832.  they moved to Michigan in the mid-1830s where they had a farm in the Belleville area.

Samuel and Betsy had six children, including Sarah Westfall.  Sarah married Calvert Coleman.  Sarah was the mother of Arthur Roy Coleman and seven other children.

Samuel died on December 13, 1893.
 

Elizabeth Kipp
 (1812-1882)

Elizabeth "Betsey" Kipp was born in Junius, New York, on October 8, 1812.  She was the daughter of Walter Kipp and Sarah Lane.  Elizabeth died on July 17, 1882, in Van Buren township, Michigan.  At the time of her death, Betsy had at least 13 grandchildren.
